Your Body’s a Wonderland
April 29, 2012 by
We got the afternoon
You got this room for two
One thing I’ve left to do
Discover me
Discovering you
One mile to every inch of
Your skin like porcelain
One pair of candy lips and
Your bubblegum tongue
‘Cause if you want love
We’ll make it
Swimming a deep sea
Of blankets
Take all your big plans
And break ‘em
This is bound to be a while
Your body Is a wonderland
Your body is a wonder (I’ll use my hands)
Your body Is a wonderland
Something ’bout the way the hair falls in your face
I love the shape you take when crawling towards the pillowcase
You tell me where to go and
Though I might leave to find it
I’ll never let your head hit the bed
Without my hand behind it
you want love?
We’ll make it
Swimming a deep sea
Of blankets
Take all your big plans
And break ‘em
This is bound to be a while
Your body Is a wonderland
Your body is a wonder (I’ll use my hands)
Your body Is a wonderland
Damn baby
You frustrate me
I know you’re mine all mine all mine
But you look so good it hurts sometimes
Your body Is a wonderland
Your body is a wonder (I’ll use my hands)
Your body Is a wonderland
Your body is a wonderland
Whistle For The Choir
by
Well it’s a big big city and it’s always the same
Can never be too pretty tell me your name
Is it out of line if I was to be bold and say “Would you be mine?”
Because I may be a beggar and you may be the queen
I know I may be on a downer i’m still ready to dream
Though it’s 3 o’clock the time is just the time it takes for you to talk
So if you’re lonely why’d you say you’re not lonely
Oh you’re a silly girl, I know I heard it so
It’s just like you to come and go
And know me no you don’t even know me
You’re so sweet to try, oh my, you caught my eye
A girl like you’s just irresistible
Well it’s a big big city and the lights are all out
But it’s much as I can do you know to figure you out
And I must confess, my heart’s in broken pieces
And my head’s a mess
And it’s 4 in the morning, and I’m walking along
Beside the ghost of every drinker here who has ever done wrong
And it’s you, woo hoo
That’s got me going crazy for the things you do
So if you’re crazy I don’t care you amaze me
but you’re a stupid girl, oh me, oh my, you talk
I die, you smile, you laugh, I cry
And only, a girl like you could be lonely
And it’s a crying shame, if you would think the same
A boy like me’s just irresistible
So if you’re lonely, why’d you say you’re not lonely
Oh you’re a silly girl, I know I heard it so
It’s just like you to come and go
And know me, no you don’t even know me
Your so sweet to try, oh my, you caught my eye
A girl like you’s just irresistible
Whiskey in the Jar
by
As I was going over the Kilmagenny mountain
I met with captain Farrell and his money he was counting.
I first produced my pistol, and the produced my rapier.
Said stand and deliver, for I am a bold deceiver,
musha ring dumma do damma da
whack for the daddy ‘ol
whack for the daddy ‘ol
there’s whiskey in the jar
I counted out his money, and it made a pretty penny.
I put it in my pocket and I brought it home to Jenny.
She said and she swore, that she never would deceive me,
but the devil take the women, for they never can be easy
musha ring dumma do damma da
whack for the daddy ‘ol
whack for the daddy ‘ol
there’s whiskey in the jar
I went into my chamber, for to take a slumber,
I dreamt of gold and jewels and for sure it was no wonder.
But Jenny took my charges and she filled them up with water,
and sent for captain Farrel to be ready for the slaughter.
musha ring dumma do damma da
whack for the daddy ‘ol
whack for the daddy ‘ol
there’s whiskey in the jar
It was early in the morning, before I rose to travel,
the guards were all around me and likewise captain Farrel.
I first produced my pistol, for she stole away my rapier,
but I couldn’t shoot the water so a prisoner I was taken.
musha ring dumma do damma da
whack for the daddy ‘ol
whack for the daddy ‘ol
there’s whiskey in the jar
If anyone can aid me, it’s my brother in the army,
if I can find his station in Cork or in Killarney.
And if he’ll come save me, we’ll go roving near Kilkenny,
and I swear he’ll treat me better than me own sportling Jenny
musha ring dumma do damma da
whack for the daddy ‘ol
whack for the daddy ‘ol
there’s whiskey in the jar
Now some men take delight in the drinking and the roving,
but others take delight in the gambling and the smoking.
But I take delight in the juice of the barley,
and courting pretty fair maids in the morning bright and early
musha ring dumma do damma da
whack for the daddy ‘ol
whack for the daddy ‘ol
there’s whiskey in the jar
When I’m Up
by
I am the fountain of affection
I’m the instrument of joy
And to keep the good times rolling
I’m the boy, I’m the boy,
You know the world could be our oyster,
You just put your trust in me,
Cause we’ll keep the good times rolling
Wait and see, wait and see….oh wait and see!
His exhaltation, a sweet disintegration.
A few discolorations, then it comes along
up is why he chooses, the kisses and the bruises
There ain’t nothing he refuses, then it comes along
It comes along, and I am lifted, I am lifted, I am lifted!
[Chorus:]
When I’m up I can’t get down
Can’t get down, can’t get level
When I’m up I can’t get down
Get my feet back on the ground
When I’m up I can’t get down
Can’t get down, can’t get level
When I’m up I can’t get down
Get my feet back on the ground
He just needs, something to blind him
Something to wind him up
It won’t take long to find him
When it comes on strong.
Wise guys are grinning, street lights are spinning
The night is just beginning, and then it comes on strong
It comes on strong, and I am lifted, I am lifted, I am lifted!
[Chorus]
Oh it comes on strong, and I am lifted.
It comes on strong, and I am lifted.
I am lifted, I am lifted!
Chorus
Use Somebody
by
I’ve been roaming around
Always looking down at all I see
Painted faces, fill the places I cant reach
You know that I could use somebody
You know that I could use somebody
Someone like you, And all you know, And how you speak
Countless lovers under cover of the street
You know that I could use somebody
You know that I could use somebody
Someone like you
Off in the night, while you live it up, I’m off to sleep
Waging wars to shape the poet and the beat
I hope it’s gonna make you notice
I hope it’s gonna make you notice
Someone like me
Someone like me
Someone like me, somebody
Go and let it out
Go and let it out
Go and let it out
Go and let it out
Go and let it out
Go and let it out
Go and let it out
Someone like you, somebody
Someone like you, somebody
Someone like you, somebody
I’ve been roaming around,
Always looking down at all I see
Wild Rover
by
I’ve been a wild rover for many a year,
And I’ve spent all me money on whiskey and beer
But now I’m returning with gold in great store,
And I promise to play the wild rover no more
And it’s no, nay, never!
No nay never no more
Will I play the wild rover?
No never no more
I went to an alehouse I used to frequent,
And I told the landlady my money was spent
I asked her for credit, she answered me, ‘Nay,
sure a custom like yours I could get any day’
And it’s no, nay, never!
No nay never no more
Will I play the wild rover?
No never no more,
And from my pocket I took sovereigns bright,
And the landlady’s eyes, they lit up with delight
She said, ‘I have whiskeys and wines of the best,
And the words that I spoke, sure were only in jest’
And it’s no, nay, never!
No nay never no more
Will I play the wild rover?
No never no more
I’ll go home to my parents, confess what I’ve done,
And I’ll ask them to pardon their prodigal son
And if they forgive me as oft-times before,
Then I promise I’ll play the wild rover no more
And it’s no, nay, never!
No nay never no more
Will I play the wild rover?
No never no more

Some people call me the space cowboy, yeah
Some call me the gangster of love
Some people call me Maurice
Cause I speak of the pompitous of love
People keep talkin’ about me, baby
Say I’m doin’ you wrong, doin’ you wrong
Well, don’t you worry baby
Don’t worry
Cause I’m right here, right here, right here, right here at home
Cause I’m a picker

And I’m a sinner
I play my music in the sun
I’m a joker
I’m a smoker
I’m a midnight toker
I get my lovin’ on the run

The Cave
April 28, 2012 by
It’s empty in the valley of your heart
The sun, it rises slowly as you walk
Away from all the fears
And all the faults you’ve left behind
The harvest left no food for you to eat
You cannibal, you meat-eater, you see
But I have seen the same
I know the shame in your defeat
But I will hold on hope
And I won’t let you choke
On the noose around your neck
And I’ll find strength in pain
And I will change my ways
I’ll know my name as it’s called again
Cause I have other things to fill my time
You take what is yours and I’ll take mine
Now let me at the truth
Which will refresh my broken mind
So tie me to a post and block my ears
I can see widows and orphans through my tears
I know my call despite my faults
And despite my growing fears
But I will hold on hope
And I won’t let you choke
On the noose around your neck
And I’ll find strength in pain
And I will change my ways
I’ll know my name as it’s called again
So come out of your cave walking on your hands
And see the world hanging upside down
You can understand dependence
When you know the maker’s land
So make your siren’s call
And sing all you want
I will not hear what you have to say
Cause I need freedom now
And I need to know how
To live my life as it’s meant to be
And I will hold on hope
And I won’t let you choke
On the noose around your neck
And I’ll find strength in pain
And I will change my ways
I’ll know my name as it’s called again
Small Town Girl
by
Just a small town girl, living in a lonely world
Took the midnight train going anywhere
Just a city boy, born and raised in south Detroit
Took the midnight train going anywhere
I seen her in a smokey room, a smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on
Strangers, waiting… walkin’ down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Street lights… people
Living just to find emotion
Hiding somewhere in the night
Working hard to get my fill
everybody wants a thrill
Betting anything to roll the dice just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some are born to sing the blues
oh the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on
Strangers, waiting… walking down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Street lights… people
Living just to find emotion
Hiding somewhere in the night
Don’t stop… believin’
hold on to that feeling
Street lights… people
Don’t stop… believin’
hold On to that feeling
Street lights… people
Don’t stop… believin’
hold on to that feeling
Street lights… people
dont stop
Slow Burning Fire
by
My shoulder still burns where you touched me last night
You hugged me and walked out the door
We’ve been pretending that we’re only friends
But tonight we can feel something more
Just being around you is making me warm
One touch and I know that I’ll melt in your arms
There’s no way to stop this burning desire
Cause there’s nothing as hot as a slow burning fire
When you look in my eye just a little too long
Before I can look away
And lately I’ve caught you staring at me
With a new kinda look on your face
Just being around you is making me warm
One touch and I know that I’ll melt in your arms
There’s no way to stop this burning desire
Cause there’s nothing as hot as a slow burning fire
